Discover Grenada
Grenada is called the "Spice Isle of the Caribbean" because it produces more spices per square mile than anywhere else on Earth! Nutmeg is the island's most famous export - it even appears on the national flag. The scent of nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, and mace fills the air as you travel through the lush countryside. Grenada was once the world's second-largest nutmeg producer.
Beyond spices, Grenada has spectacular scenery - lush rainforest-covered mountains, seven beautiful bays, pristine white sand beaches, and crystal-clear waters perfect for snorkelling and diving. The most famous dive site is the Underwater Sculpture Park off Molinière Bay, where dozens of eerie, beautiful sculptures sit on the ocean floor and have become covered with coral and fish. Grand Anse Beach is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean. Grand Etang Lake sits in the crater of an extinct volcano surrounded by rainforest. Grenada's people are warm and welcoming, proud of their spice heritage, their cricket, and their vibrant culture. St. George's, the capital, is one of the most picturesque harbours in the Caribbean, with colourful buildings climbing the hillside around a horseshoe-shaped bay.
